Plumbers in Norwich

Choosing a plumber

Most plumbing calls are either urgent (a leak, a backed-up drain) or a planned job (a fixture swap, a reno) -- knowing which one you have changes what to ask.

• For urgent work, confirm they actually offer after-hours or emergency callouts before you need one at 11pm -- not every listed plumber does.
• Ask for a licensed plumber's certificate of qualification number; Ontario requires plumbers to be licensed for most work.
• Get a not-to-exceed price or a clear hourly rate plus trip charge before work starts, especially for diagnostic visits.
• For water heater, backflow, or major re-piping work, check whether a permit and inspection is required in your municipality.
• Ask what's covered by warranty on both the parts and the labour, and get it in writing.
