How results are ranked
Ordering is explainable. There is no hidden score, and no business can buy a better description or verification label.
Conventional search
Listings are ordered by, in this order:
- How well the listing matches the words you searched for.
- Whether the business is located in, or confirms it serves, the community you chose.
- How recently the information was checked.
- Business name, alphabetically, to break ties.
Described search
When you describe what you need in your own words, the directory maps your description to categories, services and communities, then applies the same ordering as conventional search. Matching helps find candidates; it does not invent facts about a business.
Sponsorship
Sponsored listings appear in clearly labelled positions. They are not blended into organic results, and sponsorship never changes a listing’s verification label, its description, or the ordering of other listings.
