Verification policy
Every published listing records where its information came from and when it was last checked.
What the labels mean
- Not yet checked — the information has been compiled but nobody has confirmed it against a source.
- Contact information checked — an editor confirmed the phone number, website or address against a recorded source on the date shown.
- Editorially reviewed — an editor reviewed the whole profile, including services and service area, against recorded sources.
- Owner confirmed — the owner verified their identity, claimed the listing and confirmed the information.
What we never do
- We do not invent phone numbers, addresses, hours, prices or credentials.
- We do not publish a claim of licensing or insurance we cannot attribute.
- We do not upgrade a verification label because a business bought a plan.
- We do not publish anything automatically without an editor reviewing it.
Re-checking and removal
Listings are re-checked on a rolling basis and whenever a report is received. If a business has closed or the information cannot be confirmed, the listing is corrected, marked as unconfirmed, or removed.
