Renovation contractors in East Zorra-Tavistock

Choosing a renovation contractor

Renovations combine several trades under one contract -- how disputes and changes are handled matters as much as the initial price.

• Ask for WSIB clearance and liability insurance certificates, and confirm who's pulling any required permits.
• Get a detailed written contract with a payment schedule tied to project milestones, not large payments up front.
• Ask how change orders are handled and priced if something needs to change once work starts.
• Ask for references from renovations similar in scope to yours, and if possible, see completed work in person.
